Zachary W. Eisengrein is a graduate of Temple University's Boyer College of Music and the University of Miami's Frost School of Music. He is a prospective educator, musician, and photographer, and he commits himself to learning and leading through passion, perseverance, and artistic integrity. It is his mission to use music and art to inspire kindness, connection, and sharing of perspectives to make the world a better place.
The arts have long been embedded in Zach's life. From a very young age, he found great passion in writing short stories and illustrating comics about his friends' adventures and his own interests. Storytelling is a part of his life that to this day, he loves to embrace and share. At the age of 9, Zach began what would become a lifelong journey in music as he performed a flute duet alongside his twin brother in their hometown of Morrisville, Pennsylvania, and he has been invigorated by musical performance ever since. Coming from a family of great artistic depth - a father who composes, paints, and plays guitar, and a brother and sister heavily involved in theatre and singing - sharing art and performing was always present in his life in some capacity whether he was doing it himself or was simply immersed it in by others. After a year of the flute, Zach began to learn the trumpet, the instrument that would become his artistic voice for the better part of 15 years following. Despite this, he was always curious to learn as many instruments as possible, teaching himself the trombone, saxophone, tuba, euphonium, French horn, and later piano, throughout his schooling years. In 2014, upon joining the Youth Orchestra of Bucks County (YOBC) where he experienced many of his musical "firsts" (playing in a true wind ensemble, brass ensemble, symphony orchestra, touring abroad, and performing as a featured soloist), Zach decided that music and art, deep passions of his since a very young age, were to be the pursuits of his life.
While writing and illustration had taken a back seat throughout Zach's experiences with music, his music performing career carried on long after high school; upon enrolling at Temple University in 2017, Zach strove to embrace, continue developing, and share the same passion, grit, determination, and integrity that he found in YOBC with his peers at the collegiate level. He became an avid member of many high-level ensembles including the Temple University concert bands, choirs, community jazz band, and, most notably, the Diamond Marching Bands where he furthered his musical, professional, and interpersonal skills. Driven to create a positive impact, he served as Trumpet Section Leader in 2019 and Drum Major in 2020 and 2021 under the mentorship of Dr. Matthew Brunner. Since 2022, Zach has continued his love of performing at the Graduate level, having participated in ensembles at the University of Miami's Frost School of Music including the Symphonic Winds concert band, Frost Choirs, and athletic bands. In 2023, he was invited to perform Carl Orff's monumental Carmina Burana with the New World Symphony, Seraphic Fire, and South Florida Singers at the Adrienne Arsht Center in downtown Miami. Select performances from Zach's experience at both Temple University and the University of Miami can be found under the "Performing" page of this site.
Today, Zach is pursuing his dreams of inspiring others and setting a positive example through music and art by learning to teach and continue composing, arranging, conducting, and performing. Most recently, he has completed his master's degree in Music Education at the University of Miami where he also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Frost Band of the Hour athletic bands organization, from which he graduated in May 2024 with a GPA of 3.993. In addition to continuing his journey in music in the future, Zach also hopes to rekindle his love for writing and drawing as well as cooking, baking, and continue strengthening his passion for photography and capturing moments.
In July 2024, Zach will be joining the arts team at Bonita Springs High School in Bonita Springs, FL as a Performing Arts Teacher, leading instruction for beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels of concert band, jazz band, orchestra, and choir, as well as an extracurricular marching band.
